Seeing $TSLA down, my biggest takeaway as a former shareholder is that once I detached emotionally from the stock, I realized I had fallen deep into the sunk cost fallacy. That cost me a lot in opportunity cost. In my view, Tesla is often treated like a compounder, but I don't think it is. It's priced for perfection, consistently overpromises, and has a history of underdelivering against those expectations. I genuinely hope the Optimus thesis plays out, but that's a story that may take many years to materialize. Investors buying today primarily for Optimus could be waiting a very long time before that thesis translates into meaningful shareholder returns.
