Open Source vs Close Source: American There's been alot of debate about open source vs close source models that miss the point. I'm a supporter of both open and close source as long as it's American. This is paramount from both a critical infrastructure and security standpoint. Critical Infrastructure We have seen what China can do once they control marketshare in a critical sector like rare earths. They can put an export ban and force America under heavy pressure to make heavy concession. Chinese open source models are open until one release when they can decide to make it closed source.
