The $SPCX Foxconn order is fake. But the vendor is correct. I can confirm that SpaceX no longer orders from SMCI. Tesla design both their own computers and servers and does manufacturing through Foxconn. 1. Tesla designs the infotainment system which has custom AMD graphics card and embedded components. 2. Tesla designs FSD computer which uses their custom ASIC and custom I/O. 3. Tesla not only designed the Dojo server racks but the Dojo ASIC itself. Dojo though hasn’t been performant as a training cluster. Foxconn has been Elon’s choice of manufacturing vendor and although this particular order is fake, you will likely see future orders routed through Foxconn.
